Gray scale adjustment is completely lacking in the 42LV4400 as compared to most older television which has at least a 2 – point IRE gray scale adjustment.  By studying the service manual closely you can come out with other calibration settings that can add to adjustment to the display.

Should you have problems with the screen, that is, if its not looking as bright as you wanted it to be, try and turn off the energy saving mode.  This will give you the opportunity to know what the set can offer you in full back lighting mode.  Though you may lose a little energy saving, you may have to weigh that as against achieving your optimum picture quality.

If you finally make a decision to purchase the 47LV4400, in a nut shell you are buying a television that is 47″ and its LED edge lit LCD 1080P TV.  The display will be surely bright and quite beautiful with very good colors and lots of inputs.  The base can the moved up to 20 degrees.  The sound that will come out will be good but if you want a theater experience you then must buy external speakers to give you that environment.  Your black level can not be tweak the way you wanted it, this you can work around by reading the manual and reading other reviews online.
